“The rooms were great with nice big showers. Breakfast was good and filling. Since the group was large, it was split into two seatings, which worked out fine.”

What our travelers say
The Barcelona Century Hotel earns its four-star standing largely on the strength of its staff and its breakfast — two things that matter enormously when you're shepherding a group through a long day in the city. Group leaders consistently single out the morning spread as a highlight, noting the generous variety, the spacious dining room with its glass wall, and thoughtful touches like gluten-free bread and croissants. The coffee situation has earned particular enthusiasm. Staff flexibility rounds things out: when groups have needed adjusted breakfast seatings to accommodate larger numbers, the team has made it work without friction, and the front desk has been noted for warmth that goes beyond the transactional — including accommodating luggage storage on beach days when the rooms couldn't yet be accessed.
A few things are worth knowing before you book. The rooms are modern and well-appointed, with showers that group leaders have called out approvingly, but some are on the smaller side — standard for a city where square footage comes at a premium, but worth factoring in if your travelers tend to over-pack. The location on Carrer de València, in the Eixample district, sits west of the most tourist-dense corridors. Some groups arrive expecting to be steps from Las Ramblas and find themselves a bus or metro ride away instead. That said, every group that raised the point also walked it back — the distance hasn't caused real operational problems, and a few leaders found the surrounding neighborhood a welcome change of pace from the more heavily trafficked parts of the city.
The Barcelona Century works especially well for mid-to-large school groups that move through the city by organized transport rather than on foot from the hotel door. The flexible breakfast service and the staff's track record with groups of all sizes make logistics smoother than at smaller boutique properties. If your program prioritizes a reliable, professionally run base with genuine hospitality over a prime postcard address, this hotel consistently delivers.
