Why service-learning
If it doesn't help, it's just a photo.
We've walked away from service projects that turned out to be performative. The ones we keep — the Gandoca turtle project in Costa Rica, the DREAM partner in the DR — are organizations we've worked with for 10+ years, doing work the community itself defined. That's the bar. Anything less belongs on a different itinerary.
