What our travelers say
Hotel Le Cardinal earns its reputation on two things above all: location and cleanliness. Sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac in the 9th arrondissement, the property manages to feel tucked away while keeping groups within easy reach of Paris's major sightseeing corridors — Montmartre is walkable, and the surrounding streets offer everyday conveniences like a supermarket, pharmacy, and a bakery steps from the door. Group leaders consistently describe it as a reliable base, the kind of place where the city itself does the heavy lifting and the hotel stays sensibly out of the way.
A few things are worth knowing before arrival. Rooms — particularly singles — run small, which is honestly the norm for a four-star Paris property at this price point, but groups should set expectations accordingly. Beds in single rooms can feel tight for taller travelers. Breakfast gets mixed notices: some leaders found it perfectly adequate, while others describe the spread as on the minimal side. Staff attitudes have generally read as warm and welcoming, though service consistency can vary depending on the day and the team on shift. There was also some road construction noise noted on at least one visit, though that kind of thing tends to come and go in a city that's perpetually rebuilding itself.
Hotel Le Cardinal fits best for school and student groups who plan to spend most of their time out in the city and need a clean, well-positioned home base rather than a property with extensive on-site amenities. It's not the place for a group that wants to linger over a long breakfast or spread out in spacious rooms — but for a group that's up early and chasing Paris all day, it does the job consistently and without drama.
