What our travelers say
Hotel Alcazar earns consistent praise from our group leaders and tour directors for one thing above almost everything else: where it sits. Perched on the edge of the Santa Cruz district, with the Alcázar palace, Seville Cathedral, and the Giralda all under ten minutes on foot, the hotel puts student groups exactly where they want to be without anyone needing to navigate buses or metros just to reach the main sights. Check-in runs smoothly according to multiple groups, the Wi-Fi holds up reliably, and the spacious lobby has proven genuinely useful as a gathering point in the evenings — something that matters more than it sounds when you're wrangling thirty students after a long day of touring. The rooftop bar and pool are a real bonus, offering views over Seville that have made a strong impression on travelers and leaders alike.
Breakfast comes up often in our evaluations, and the picture is honestly a mixed one — which is worth knowing in advance. Most groups find it perfectly serviceable and appreciate the variety, particularly the pastry selection, but hot items like eggs or bacon tend not to feature, which is fairly standard across European city hotels. A couple of groups found the spread a little limited on certain mornings, while others called it impressive and left satisfied. It's a continental-style breakfast that does the job, just don't arrive expecting a full cooked spread. Rooms are compact — again, typical for a three-star city-center property in a historic building — but group leaders uniformly describe them as clean and well-maintained, which is what counts most on a group tour.
Hotel Alcazar is a strong fit for student and school groups who want to be in the heart of Seville without stretching the budget. The location does a lot of the heavy lifting, the staff come across as friendly and accommodating, and the practical basics — clean rooms, reliable Wi-Fi, smooth logistics — all hold up across multiple seasons and program types. Groups that prioritize sightseeing efficiency over hotel amenities will find this one earns its place on the itinerary.
