What our travelers say
Hotel Le Patio Bastille earns consistent praise from our group leaders and tour directors, and it's easy to see why they keep coming back to it. The hotel's greatest strengths are its location and its character. Sitting in the lively 11th arrondissement, it puts groups within easy reach of two metro stations and just a short walk from the Place de la Bastille — meaning mornings start efficiently and the city feels immediately accessible. The neighborhood is safe and well-suited to student travel, with grocery stores nearby and good motorcoach access for larger groups. Staff come up repeatedly in evaluations as genuinely attentive and helpful, which makes a real difference when you're coordinating a group with a hundred moving parts. The property itself is genuinely charming — a multi-courtyard layout gives it a boutique feel that students tend to remember. Rooms are consistently described as clean, modern, and good-sized for a Paris three-star. Breakfast earns strong marks for variety and quality; multiple group leaders noted that no one went hungry and that the spread was a solid start to the day. That said, there are a couple of practical things to set expectations around. The dining room is small, and when more than one tour group is staying simultaneously, it can feel tight — eating in shifts is the norm here rather than the exception. The courtyard layout, while atmospheric, means navigating between rooms requires looping back through common areas, which can add a few minutes when you're rounding up students in the morning. Lift access is available throughout, which matters for groups traveling with luggage. This hotel is a strong fit for small to mid-sized student and teacher groups who appreciate a hotel with personality over a generic chain property. Groups comfortable with a bit of organized flexibility — staggered breakfasts, a touch of maze-like navigation — will find the tradeoff more than worthwhile for the location, the staff, and the overall quality of the stay.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· LBFP
Cute and charming hotel with lovely courtyards and clean rooms. A short walk to the metro and nearby grocery stores. Breakfast food was good, though the area was small. One morning had minor confusion over to-go vs. sit-down breakfast.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2026· LAPS
The modern rooms were a highlight. Lift access was available despite a multi-courtyard layout, which made a real difference. The hotel sits near Place de la Bastille and République—a lovely bonus glimpse of the city. Two metro stations are within easy reach.
ExcellentGroup Leader· March 2026· COTS
Rooms were clean and breakfast was well-stocked. Serving meals in shifts was manageable here. The spread-out room layout can make addressing student needs quickly a slight challenge, but overall a great experience.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2025· PABP
Friendly and helpful staff with good-sized rooms and convenient metro access. The breakfast room is quite small, which creates congestion when multiple tour groups are staying at the same time.
ExcellentGroup Leader· February 2025· OLEP
The hotel's charming quirks include a maze-like room layout where finding each room requires returning to the courtyard first — fun but time-consuming. The small dining room can feel tight for groups eating together, but breakfast itself was excellent!
ExcellentTour Director· June 2025· PAMS
Conveniently located with attentive, friendly staff. Breakfast is enjoyable and a good start to the day.
