What our travelers say
Hotel du Forum sits on what group leaders reliably call one of the finest squares in Arles — a genuinely central perch that puts Roman amphitheaters, restaurants, gelato stops, and local shopping all within easy walking distance. That location earns consistent praise across multiple trips, but it's the hotel itself that keeps groups coming back: rooms are notably spacious by French city-center standards, bathrooms included, and the building carries an old-world character that fits the mood of Arles rather than fighting it. Breakfast draws particular appreciation — croissants that group leaders single out as a trip highlight, served by a front-desk and dining team that several travelers describe as genuinely warm and attentive to student groups. When the hotel's calendar aligns with Arles's Fête de la Musique, the experience takes on an extra dimension, with the property leaning into the festivities in ways that have become a memorable bonus for lucky groups. A few practical notes are worth flagging for trip planners. The hotel operates with some structured policies — pool capacity is managed, and shower scheduling has been in place during peak periods — which makes sense for a property balancing multiple groups, though it can feel regimented to students expecting more flexibility. Tour directors should also know that the standard guide room is interior-facing and windowless; requesting an upgrade at booking time is advisable. Mini bars in rooms contain alcohol but have been cleared promptly on request when groups flag it in advance — worth noting in pre-arrival communications. The classic, older aesthetic is part of the charm, though travelers expecting contemporary minimalism may need a moment to settle into it. Overall, Hotel du Forum is a strong fit for student and teacher groups touring Provence who want a base with genuine character and real convenience rather than a suburban conference hotel. Larger school groups have worked here successfully, and the staff's familiarity with student logistics — key exchanges, luggage handling, group meal rhythms — shows in the details. For groups spending a night or two in Arles before moving on, it consistently delivers the kind of place students actually remember.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026
Breakfast featured the freshest croissants of the trip. The hotel's wonderful location and old French charm made it a standout choice, and it comes highly recommended for future groups.

Loved the location! This is a great older hotel with large rooms and bathrooms. The pool party held for La Fête de la Musique was a wonderful bonus — a fantastic experience for our group!
ExcellentTour Director· June 2026· YJTS
Ideally located for enjoying the Fête de la Musique festivities. The hotel has a classic, old-fashioned charm and works very well as an overnight stop.
ExcellentGroup Leader· May 2025· XDNS
Located on Forum Square—arguably the best square in Arles—this hotel is close to everything and a definite keeper. Rooms are spacious, the front desk handles student key exchanges graciously, and breakfast is excellent. Note: mini bars with alcohol were in the rooms but were promptly cleared upon request.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2025· XCH
The character and room sizes were excellent. Some hotel policies felt strict—such as pool capacity limits and scheduled shower times—though the reasoning was understandable. The pool and overall location were amazing.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2025· XCH
The group thoroughly enjoyed the experience, though some found management's approach a bit overbearing at times.
