What our travelers say
Hotel del Corso earns consistent praise from group leaders and tour directors alike, and the reasons aren't hard to see. Sitting directly on Corso Italia, Sorrento's main artery, it puts groups within easy walking distance of the town center, the clifftop views, and the ferries that connect to Capri and the Amalfi Coast — a genuine operational advantage when you're moving students from place to place. The staff come up repeatedly in our evaluations: friendly, approachable, and responsive when minor issues arise (a hot-water hiccup was sorted quickly on one trip). Rooms are noted as clean and adequately sized, and several groups have lucked into rooms with balcony views that made an impression well beyond what a three-star property might promise. A few things are worth knowing before you arrive. The hotel's character comes partly from its multi-level layout, which means stairs — quite a few of them — throughout the building, and some lower-floor rooms are only reachable without elevator access. Groups traveling with anyone who has mobility concerns should flag this early and work with the hotel on room assignments. Breakfast skews lighter in quantity, as is common in southern Italy, though the quality is solid and gluten-free options have been accommodated on request. Street-facing rooms pick up noise from traffic and a nearby bar that can run late into the evening, so groups of lighter sleepers may want to request interior-facing rooms if possible. Hotel del Corso is a strong fit for student and teacher groups that value a walkable, central base in Sorrento over resort-style amenities. It's particularly well-suited to programs with an active daily itinerary where the room is really just a place to sleep and recharge — the location does a lot of the work. Smaller groups or those with flexible rooming needs will find it easiest to navigate the layout and room-assignment logistics. If your group can handle a bit of urban energy and a few flights of stairs, this property delivers real Sorrento character at a practical price point.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2025
A wonderful hotel overall. Note that some lower-level rooms require navigating winding stairs without elevator access, which can be tricky with luggage. Breakfast is on the lighter side.
ExcellentTour Director· April 2025
The location, support, cleanliness, and room space were all excellent. Breakfast was small but outstanding in quality, with gluten-free options available on request. A hot-water issue was quickly resolved.
ExcellentGroup Leader· March 2024· CLA
Very beautiful and clean, with lovely balcony views and a decent breakfast.
ExcellentTour Director· March 2024· CLA
Conveniently located with friendly, down-to-earth staff. Breakfast was decent and the overall experience was solid.
GoodGroup Leader· April 2025
The hotel has great character and a central location. Rooms on the street side can experience noise from traffic and a nearby bar well past midnight, and noise complaints may not always be resolved by management.
GoodTour Director· June 2023· YJSS
Great location with very friendly staff. The multi-level layout involves quite a few stairs throughout the building, which may be worth considering for some groups.
