What our travelers say
Venezia 2000 earns consistent praise from our tour directors and group leaders for something that sounds simple but proves genuinely rare in the Venice orbit: space. Rooms are notably large by Italian three-star standards, the breakfast room has room enough for a full group to spread out, and the meal itself delivers — our travelers describe a generous, varied spread that sends everyone out the door well-fueled. Staff come up repeatedly in the evaluations, praised for attentiveness and a warmth that makes logistics smoother for group leaders juggling early departures and late arrivals. The Lido location adds its own quiet bonus: a free beach sits directly across the street, and more than one group has reported students waking before the itinerary demanded it, drawn outside by a sunrise over the Adriatic. A few practical realities are worth knowing before you arrive. The Lido is genuinely a better base than Mestre for groups who want to feel they are in Venice rather than on its industrial fringe, but it does sit at a remove from the historic center — figure a 10-to-15-minute walk to the vaporetto landing, then a water-bus crossing before you reach San Marco or the Rialto. Midday logistics require planning, since popping back to the hotel for lunch is not realistic. One summer group also flagged that air conditioning was unreliable during warmer months, so June and July travelers should set expectations accordingly. Venezia 2000 works especially well for school groups who benefit from the quieter, more residential atmosphere of the Lido — students tend to settle in earlier here than they might in a hotel steps from the Piazza. The beach access makes free time genuinely easy to manage, and the neighborhood gives the trip a lived-in, local texture that the tourist-dense center rarely offers. Groups looking for a compact, central Venice address may want to weigh the commute carefully, but for programs where the hotel is a place to rest, regroup, and actually experience a corner of Venice beyond the postcard stops, this property delivers reliably.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentTour Director· April 2025· ROH
Ideally located in Lido, which is a better base than Mestre. The hotel is lovely and the staff are welcoming.
ExcellentTour Director· March 2025· ROHP
Lovely seaside location with large rooms, a spacious breakfast room, and helpful staff. The one drawback is that it sits a bit far from the center, making lunch stops and public transport access less convenient.
ExcellentGroup Leader· April 2025· ROH
Spacious rooms in a residential neighborhood, giving students an authentic glimpse of Venice beyond the tourist areas. The quiet setting kept the group settled in early. A 10–15 minute walk to the boats.
ExcellentTour Director· February 2024· ROHP
Excellent location with a nearby beach that had group members waking up early to catch the sunrise. Breakfast was good, and the staff were kind and helpful throughout.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2024· ZHLS
The location is great, situated right across from a free beach. The stay would have been even better with fully functioning air conditioning.
ExcellentGroup Leader· February 2024· ROHP
Great food and a nice hotel. The beach is just across the street, making it an easy and convenient walk for the group.
