What our travelers say
The Holiday Inn Express Berlin City Centre has become a reliable anchor for our groups arriving in the German capital, and the feedback from both tour directors and group leaders tells a consistent story: this is a well-positioned, well-run hotel that gets the fundamentals right. The location on Stresemannstrasse puts Checkpoint Charlie and the Potsdamer Platz district within a comfortable walking distance, and the easy access to public transport means groups can fan out across the city without much fuss. More than one tour director has flagged the location as a genuine strength, and after a long travel day, that kind of convenience matters more than most groups realize until they're actually moving. Inside, the hotel earns good marks for clean, modern rooms that feel thoughtfully maintained since their 2013 renovation — air conditioning, satellite TV, and a tea and coffee maker are standard throughout. The breakfast buffet draws particular attention: group leaders describe it as substantial and varied, the kind of spread that actually fuels a full day of sightseeing rather than leaving students hunting for a café an hour later. The large breakfast room, with an option to spill out into the courtyard when weather allows, handles group volumes without feeling chaotic. One practical note worth flagging before arrival: the hotel requires a per-student deposit at check-in, with the full blocked amount held until departure. It is a straightforward process, but confirming the release procedure with the front desk upon arrival will save your group any confusion at checkout. All told, this property is a strong fit for student and teacher groups looking for a modern, centrally accessible base that does not require constant workarounds. It is not a boutique experience, and it does not need to be — it is a hotel that respects a group's time and keeps the logistics simple, which is exactly what a busy Berlin itinerary demands.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentTour Director· June 2022· XCTP
Great new location, conveniently close to the old town centre.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2022· XCTP
Very modern with clean, comfortable rooms and everything needed. Breakfast was substantial with great variety. Check-in was smooth, and the location worked well. A great way to start the trip.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2017· YNJS
Ideally located with a great breakfast buffet.
ExcellentTour Director· July 2015· ZJSS
Great location and service. Note that a 25€ per-student deposit is required at check-in. On our visit the full blocked amount needed a follow-up call to be released, so it is worth planning cash flow accordingly.
