What our travelers say
The Hotel Atlanta Augustus earns its reputation on the strength of three things group leaders mention again and again: location, staff, and breakfast. Sitting just a short walk from the water-bus stop on Venice Lido, the hotel puts student groups within easy reach of the lagoon and the main drag without the noise and congestion of central Venice. The building itself has genuine character — original friezes, antique oversized room keys, individually decorated interiors — and the panoramic terrace and courtyard give groups a pleasant place to gather that feels nothing like a generic chain property. Tour directors consistently single out the staff as accommodating and genuinely supportive, including during the routine logistics of lights-out checks and early departures that can sometimes create friction at other properties. Breakfast is a highlight for most groups, particularly when the weather allows for the outdoor patio. The croissants have drawn specific praise, and the morning spread is generally considered a proper send-off before a long day of sightseeing. That said, a handful of evaluators note that the variety could be broader on some mornings, and groups with very early departure times should confirm breakfast service hours in advance, as the dining room opening has occasionally run later than some travelers needed. Air conditioning in the rooms has been appreciated — especially during the hotter summer months — and beds are consistently described as comfortable, though room sizes do vary across the property, with some attic rooms offering lagoon views alongside slightly more compact layouts. One practical note worth passing along: a small number of bathroom decorative tiles have an adult motif; it's easily addressed by flagging it with staff ahead of arrival, who have handled the request without issue. The Atlanta Augustus is a strong fit for school and student groups looking for an authentic, characterful base on the Lido rather than a cookie-cutter hotel experience. The old-world atmosphere resonates with travelers who appreciate history and detail, and the manageable scale makes it well-suited to groups that want attentive, personalized service. Groups traveling in peak summer should note the heat factor and plan accordingly, but for most educational itineraries moving through Venice, this property delivers comfort, convenience, and a genuine sense of place.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· May 2026· YGAS
Excellent location, just a short walk from the water bus station and the main street. Breakfast was enjoyable, especially on the outdoor patio. The beds were very comfortable. Note: two bathrooms had an adult tile mosaic that the staff promptly covered upon request.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· ROHP
Rooms are comfortable, staff are accommodating, and the location is convenient. Breakfast was good, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. Highly recommended for future visits.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· ROHS
Guests loved this hotel's great location, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast. The patio was a lovely morning spot. One unusual moment arose when another guest objected to routine lights-out checks at 10 PM, though hotel staff were fully supportive throughout the stay.
ExcellentGroup Leader· July 2026
All necessities were well provided, and the cool air conditioning was a welcome relief during the very hot weather.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2026· ROHP
A very nice, well-situated hotel with a friendly staff. The breakfast could use some improvement, but overall it was a great experience.
ExcellentTour Director· July 2026· CACP
Ideally located with a friendly and welcoming staff. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast is well worth looking forward to.
