What our travelers say
Hotel Post earns consistent praise from the group leaders and tour directors who bring students through Vienna, and the theme running through nearly every evaluation is the same: the location on Fleischmarkt, in Vienna's first district, is about as well-placed as you could ask for. Schwedenplatz U-Bahn is a three-minute walk, the historic city center is easily reached on foot, and the nearby Danube embankment has even drawn early-rising travelers out for morning runs before the day's touring begins. For groups trying to move efficiently around the city, that kind of access matters enormously. The rooms are clean and straightforward — this is a three-star property with 107 rooms, and the space reflects that. Several evaluators noted the rooms are on the smaller side, though notably this hasn't dampened anyone's spirits; one tour director observed that students found the cozy quarters perfectly suited to evening card games. Air conditioning has functioned reliably during summer travel, hot showers have been consistently dependable, and check-in has run smoothly even for larger groups. The one logistical caveat worth knowing: the entrance area doubles as the lobby, which can get tight when a full group is arriving or assembling. The two elevators help keep things moving. There has also been some street-level construction at times, though evaluators reported it didn't significantly affect the experience inside. Breakfast draws genuine enthusiasm — multiple group leaders describe it as varied, filling, and served in a spacious dining room, which makes a real difference when you're fueling a group for a long day of sightseeing. The staff receive repeated mentions for flexibility and helpfulness, particularly when it comes to managing the logistics of larger parties. Hotel Post is a natural fit for student groups and school tours that want to be in the middle of Vienna without the complexity or cost of a larger property — practical, well-run, and genuinely convenient.

Great location despite ongoing construction out front. Breakfast was good, air conditioning worked well, and rooms were comfortable, though small — which students didn't mind for evening card games.

A great location near the Danube for morning runs and close to the city for easy touring. The breakfast room is spacious, and the uniquely designed toilets are certainly a talking point!
