What our travelers say
Hotel Royal earns consistent praise from our group leaders and tour directors for two things above all else: its staff and its position on Rue de Lausanne. Sitting right beside a tram stop, the hotel puts Geneva's old town, the lake, and the city's main attractions within easy reach without the logistical headaches that come with more peripheral properties. Our travelers have repeatedly flagged how much smoother a day runs when the group can step off the curb and onto public transit in under a minute. The team at the front desk and in the dining room stands out in our evaluations as genuinely attentive rather than merely efficient. One group leader noted that when an incident involving a theft occurred in the lobby, hotel staff responded calmly and constructively — pulling up CCTV footage and pointing the group toward the appropriate authorities without any friction. That kind of composed, practical support matters enormously when you're responsible for a group of students far from home. Rooms are described as clean and in good condition, and ongoing renovation work did not appear to disrupt the experience for groups staying during that period. Breakfast drew particularly warm remarks, with variety and quality both coming in above expectations for a four-star city property. Hotel Royal works well for school and student groups that need a central Geneva base without sacrificing comfort or reliable service. The tram access makes it especially practical for programs with packed itineraries across multiple neighborhoods. Groups that appreciate responsive staff and a straightforward, well-run operation will feel at home here — this is a property that handles the details so your leaders can focus on the trip itself.

Fantastic location with wonderful staff. A theft in the lobby was handled well—staff provided CCTV access and police directions. Renovation didn't affect rooms; all were clean. Breakfast options were fantastic!

Reception and dining staff were very helpful, and the rooms were good. The location is excellent, situated right next to the tram.
