What our travelers say
The Acropolis Select has built a loyal following among Passports group leaders for good reason: it delivers on the things that matter most when you're moving a group through a demanding city. The location on Falirou Street puts travelers within easy walking distance of the Plaka district and the Acropolis itself, and the nearby metro station means the rest of Athens is genuinely accessible without burning half a morning on logistics. Group leaders across multiple programs and several years consistently point to the location as one of the property's strongest assets — not just convenient, but energizing, the kind of spot where students step outside and immediately feel the weight of where they are. The experience inside the hotel holds up just as well. Tour directors and group leaders alike make a point of mentioning the breakfast, which goes beyond the continental minimum — fresh products, a solid hot and cold spread, and enough variety to satisfy a group that has a full day ahead of it. Rooms are consistently described as clean, well-kept, and comfortable, and the staff earn praise across the board for being genuinely helpful rather than just professionally polite. One practical note worth flagging: the elevator is on the smaller side, which can slow things down during check-in and check-out when luggage is in the mix. A little patience and some coordination with the hotel team goes a long way. The property also offers a secure bag-drop option for early arrivals, which group leaders have found genuinely useful when flights land before rooms are ready. For groups that can work within a smaller footprint — leaders specifically mention the sweet spot being twelve or fewer travelers — the Acropolis Select punches well above its three-star category. The seventh-floor restaurant, with its direct sightline to the Parthenon, has a way of turning an ordinary dinner into something students remember long after the trip ends. This is a property that suits school groups and student travelers who want a central, walkable base with real character, without the anonymity of a large chain hotel.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· AEGP
The staff were welcoming, breakfast offered excellent variety and quality, and rooms were spotless. Early bag drop in a secure room made arrival easy, and the location is hard to beat.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· CLAE
Excellent location right in the heart of town, making it perfect for groups. The staff was friendly and breakfast was outstanding. The elevator is quite small, which makes check-in and check-out with luggage tricky, but the location more than makes up for it.
ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2026· AEGP
The rooms are great and the location is very central.
