What our travelers say
The New Haroula Hotel sits in the heart of Fira, and for groups visiting Santorini, that central position alone earns its place on an itinerary. Group leaders describe the setting as genuinely picturesque — the kind of backdrop that makes the whole trip feel worthwhile the moment you step outside. Beyond the scenery, what consistently comes up in feedback is the warmth of the staff. Multiple group leaders and tour directors have noted that the team here goes out of their way to be welcoming and accommodating, which matters enormously when you're wrangling a group of students at the end of a long travel day. The hotel has an old-fashioned character that some find charming — it's not a sleek modern property, but it has personality, and the swimming pool is a genuine asset when the Aegean heat settles in. Breakfast is available and functional, though tour directors have noted it leans toward a standard spread rather than an elaborate affair. Given that student groups rarely surface early enough to make the most of a hotel breakfast anyway, this is worth keeping in mind more as a scheduling note than a concern. Those expecting a buffet-heavy morning ritual should temper expectations accordingly. The New Haroula works particularly well for student and youth groups who need a reliable, well-located base for exploring Santorini without the premium price tag of the island's more resort-style properties. The friendly staff makes it easier to manage the logistics of group travel, and the Fira location puts the caldera views, local restaurants, and transportation connections within easy reach. Groups that value atmosphere and hospitality over modern amenities will feel right at home here.

What group leaders & tour directors say

ExcellentGroup Leader· June 2025
Very picturesque with a wonderful location. The people were exceptionally nice and friendly throughout our visit.
ExcellentTour Director· June 2025
The staff were wonderfully friendly, and the charming old-fashioned hotel features a great swimming pool. Breakfast was a standard offering, though few in the group were up early enough to fully experience it.
