Teacher Tuesday: Independence Day Primary Sources

In honor of America’s Independence Day celebrations this week, the Curriculum Department at passports would like to help teachers in preparing their lesson plans and classes for next school year.

On the websites listed below, teachers can find primary and secondary sources on the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution. We offer these sites as suggestions and welcome input from teachers as to any others.

Declaration of Independence, from the National Archives

Primary Sources Pertaining to Early American History

Sources from the American Revolution

Primary sources from the Smithsonian

American Independence, from the Modern History Sourcebook at Fordham University

Enjoy July 4th and the rest of the summer!
