March in Student Travel

It’s the end of March, and every year at this time, things are hoppin’ at passports Educational Travel!

For starters, the spring-break trips that students and teachers enrolled on a year (or more) ago are operating.  Students and teachers are traveling with passports right now in France, Spain, Italy, England, Germany, Peru and Costa Rica!

It’s a very exciting and hectic time in student travel.  This is the goal we work for all year long — March! While it can be stressful and require long work hours with little sleep, we who work in this industry thrive on the excitement of this season.  Winter is trying hard to finish up its handiwork, and spring threatens to push winter away with a blast of warm air and sunshine.  Study groups departing from airports all across the country are a sure sign that spring has arrived.

We get daily reports from our employees who are “on the road” on assignment overseas.  They get to meet as many of the teachers and students as possible, and we here in the U.S. headquarters are kept advised of how things are going every step of the way.

Here in the U.S. we are also processing new enrollments for trips that will run a year from now!  And, we’re gearing up for the next “wave” of students and teachers who will travel during the spring and summer of 2014.

If you’re traveling with us in 2014, merci beaucoup et bon voyage!

If you’ve signed up for a 2015 (or even, yes, a 2016) tour with passports you may be asking… What now?

The answer is: plenty!

You should have already received a “Welcome to passports” email from us, and your first monthly “convenience” bill has either arrived in your mailbox, or will within the next day or two.  You have an online account, and can see how and when your monthly payments are processed and how much you owe.

  • Even though it seems like your 2015 trip is so far off in the distance, you can keep up the excitement and momentum of your trip all year long.
  • Use passports.com to study up on the destinations you’ll be visiting.
  • Read our somewhat-outdated, but nevertheless historical “On the Road” essays, written by the scholars who invented student group travel several decades ago.
  • Apply for academic credit, if you’d like.
  • Read about our student contests and get ready to sign up when we give you the green light.
  • “Like” us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Pinterest.
  • As your departure date draws nearer, familiarize yourself with our 25 Travel Tips!
