Teacher Travel Messageboard: Passports vs. EF Tours???

Passports vs. EF Tours???

Posted by Tonya Pettigrew on 05/06/2005

howdy. i'm planning a trip to Greece for july 2006. i've spoken with folks at EF and they do have great prices. however, i've scoured the internet and found all sorts of horror stories from teachers who've traveled with EF.

i had originally planned to go with passports but looked for better prices. now i'm thinking of switching back to passports! has anyone traveled to greece (athens and the islands) with passports and/or ef? i'd like to know more about hotel locations, food, etc. the last time i was in greece was in 1998 with a college study abroad group. now, i'll be leading my own group of students (i teach world history) with another teacher (english) and maybe even our principal. i really don't want to end up in a dump -- but more importantly, i don't want to waste time by staying at a cheaper, but totally out of the way hotel. help please!!! thanks, tonya pettigrew bassett high school bassett, va.
