Code of Conduct

Our Guide to Global Citizenship

Our Promise

At Passports Educational Travel, we're not just about exploring new places; we're about making connections and leaving positive impressions wherever we go. We aim to be ambassadors of goodwill, showcasing the best of American spirit through respect, courtesy, and open-mindedness.

Your Promise

Staying Safe and Together

  • For Explorers Under 18: Stick with the squad! Leaving the group on your own is a no-go. If your itinerary includes free time, and your group leader is okay with you venturing out during free time, make it a party of four or more. Always loop in your group leader about where you're heading and when you'll be back.

  • Visiting Friends or Family? Not Heading Home with the Group? Get the green light from your group leader and a thumbs-up (in writing) from your folks at home well beforehand.

  • Feeling Under the Weather? Rest up, but let your group leader and our tour director know what's up.

  • Keep Everyone in the Loop: We're a team. Letting us know your whereabouts and staying open to guidance helps everything run smoothly.

Making the Most of Your Adventure

  • Be In the Know: Stay up-to-speed with the day's plans. Check in with your group leader and keep an eye on any updates from PassportsGo, or in the hotel lobby.

  • Attitude is Everything: Pack a positive mindset alongside your passport. A cooperative and responsible vibe not only boosts your experience but elevates the group's.

Embrace New Experiences

  • Cultural Cuisine: Dive into the local dining scene with enthusiasm. Remember, burgers and fries will be waiting back home. Now's the time for culinary adventure!

  • Respect the Dress Code: Whether it's a cathedral visit or a local festival, dressing appropriately shows respect for local customs and traditions.

  • Be the Audience Everyone Wants: On tours and during talks, lend your ears. It’s the best way to soak in knowledge and show respect to our hosts.

Tech Etiquette

  • Tech in Moderation: Use headphones or gadgets judiciously. They're best saved for long journeys, and only with permission, ensuring everyone stays tuned into the experience. We know better than anyone - phone eats first! By all means, snap a quick picture of your meals, but spend the majority of the time connecting with those around you.

Punctuality and Participation

  • Time is Precious: We're all about making every moment count. Being on time means more adventures for everyone.

  • Curfew and Conduct: Nighttime adventures are off-limits without permission. Hotel rooms are for rest and recharge, not for room swaps or late-night escapades.

Hotel Harmony

  • Quiet Hours: Let's keep the peace post-10 PM. Our fellow guests appreciate tranquility as much as we do.

  • Financial Savvy: Be prepared for personal expenses not covered by the trip, like those tempting souvenirs or extra snacks. And remember, hotel towels are not keepsakes.

Valuables and Responsibilities

  • Look After Your Stuff: Keep an eye on your belongings, especially the essentials like your passport and wallet. Lost items can be a hassle and put a real damper on your day. That said, if anything does go missing, notify your group leader and tour director immediately.

  • Alcohol and Substance Policy: We're here for the culture, not cocktails. If you're of age and have prior written permission, a modest taste of local tradition might be okay. But let's keep it classy and safe. No substances.

  • Respect All, Fear None: Intimidation, harassment, or any form of disrespect is off the table. We're here to build bridges, not walls.

The Bigger Picture

Your journey with Passports is a chance to be part of something larger than yourself. By adhering to this Code of Conduct, you contribute to a memorable, safe, and enriching travel experience for everyone involved. Let's make every moment count and return home with stories that inspire.

Together, we can make this trip extraordinary. Thanks for being an essential part of our global classroom. Let the adventure begin!
