Europe still very safePosted by Matt Steiner on March 16, 2004 at 08:29:14: Despite the terrorist attack on trains in Madrid (Spain), I can assure you, that Americans travelling in Europe are still very safe. If you are visting Switzerland, do not miss Basel / Switzerland during summer. Basel is located 50 min. by train from Lucerne on the border to Germany AND France on the river Rhine, much cheaper than Lucerne, with 38 museums (Picasso, modern Art, historical) and over 200 restaurants.
