Expedition VietnamA short drive south from the bustling coastal city of Danang, Hoi An is an architectural marvel frozen in time - a fusion of small buildings of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and European designs dating back to the 16th century and evidence of the town's fascinating past as a major trading port. Many regard Hoi An as Vietnam's most beautiful town. The officially Socialist government, run by the Communist party, has made recent reforms which opened the economy for trade and for some creation of wealth. Volunteers will see, however, that, as in China, the old and new Revolutions have left many rural peasants behind. Our projects help these people. |
