Cambodia Today

Following years of war and genocide, Cambodia is now a safe place to visit, and one of the world's fastest growing tourist destinations.

But the enormous success of this burgeoning tourist industry has not appreciably benefited average Cambodians. Foreigners own most of the hotels and tourist restaurants, and for those fortunate enough to have jobs, salary scales are still quite modest. There is much poverty and the people of Cambodia are still in dire need of the help and support we provide here. In addition, thousands of Cambodians living in the countryside are maimed or killed every year when they step on unexploded landmines of which there are literally millions.
