Educational Travel: Explained
The people behind passports have been responsible, directly or indirectly, for the successful overseas travel of hundreds of thousands of American high school students since the mid-nineteen-sixties.
The fundamental premise has remained unchanged over all these years: travel to foreign lands is an education in itself, making the world a safer place, and making people happier with their lives than they would have been otherwise.
This process of education through travel is not spontaneous; it does not happen by itself. It happens only with the pro-active, dedicated support of educators teachers in the schools.
passports plays the role of catalyst in this process, giving teachers not just abstract, moralizing, make-the-world-better reasons why but real, down-to-earth benefits and "perks" in return for their help in organizing travel groups.
Mainly, a free trip to Europe or other destinations for every six (6) students enrolled in an overseas travel program. And cash stipends in the case of groups larger than six. And extra free trips to exciting overseas destinations if enrollment occurs early.
passports makes it worth a teacher's while to provide his/her students with an invaluable, eye-opening cultural experience overseas.
