Hello to everyone in the USA!
My name is Anne Marie Rubinstein, I am a courier working for Passports and I recently lead a trip to Spain from Madrid down to the Costa Del Sol.
I have to say that my group was a little anxious about their optional tour to Morocco. However they did not want to cancel it and asked me to get some more info about the situation in Morocco. I called the office in Paris who checked with the website of the govt of USA. No warnings about Morocco! So we decided to be brave and go there. We left very early in the morning, at the crack of dawn, took a bus to the port, and met the representative of the Moroccan travel agency that works with Passports. We took the ferry and were in Morocco by 11 am. As soon as we got off the hydrofoil we met our smiling guide Rachid, who took us on a bus tour of the city. The group really enjoyed the camel ride and we went with our guide plus 2 other reps from the agency around the markets. We felt very safe. We had a wonderful lunch with musicians playing local tunes. Then we went again into the bazaar, to see the beautiful handicrafts that are made in Morocco. The group got an explanation of the different types of carpets while sipping a mint tea (the local drink)and we went to a local pharmacy where the group could get all types of spices, and natural medecines and cosmetics. Finally we all got back on the boat. For some of my people Tangiers was the highlight of the tour. It is so close to Spain and yet so different. All said "I am glad I came".
The whole group enjoyed their time in Spain looking at the wonderful sites of the Moorish culture in Andalucia.
There is really nothing to fear about going to Europe.
I'm now back in Madrid waiting for my next group to arrive from Cinncinnati, and am looking forward to meeting them and (hopefully) going back to Morocco!
Bye bye!
Anne Marie
